Wedding Dress Shopping- Day 1

A little known fact about me is that I have been engaged for almost two years now. I have been VERY slow at planning(really I dread it), however, before even setting a date or booking a venue, I went wedding dress shopping with my Mom while she was in town(she lives in FL and I am in PA). My friend Shelby also came along to help get me into the gowns which was much needed. I have never tried on a wedding dress before and never realized just how bulky and heavy they can be! My first stop was to Alfred Angelo Bridal located in Lancaster, PA where my dress consultant was named Miguel. Miguel went over to the plus size section which was limited, as expected, in a size 24+. He picked out a few gowns, all size 24 and 26 for me to try on. I looked at the first gown, still in the package and was not very impressed, but I figured that I would try on every gown that I could so get a feel for what I like on my body versus what I liked in stock photos... to my surprise, it was one of the most beautiful and feminine wedding gowns that I could have imagined. It was EXACTLY what I had always envisioned myself wearing on my wedding day. It was as regal as I could have expected being strapless with beading and delicate draping. I still tried on the other few gowns that had been picked out and available for me to try on in my size and although they were nice gowns and I could see how another bride may choose those styles, they only solidified to me that the first dress would be THE DRESS. I managed to have my Mom, my friend Shelby and Miguel snap a few photos of me in the various gowns to show you how they fit my super size frame. And on to the pictures...
